The Secretary, Treasurer, and Graduate Student Representative positions on the SEERS Board of Directors will be up for election in November with the positions beginning at the 2015 Spring Meeting (which will be organized by the current Board). All of these positions are for 2-year terms with the expectation of attending all 3 regional meetings during that time.
SEERS is a volunteer organization that needs people to serve on the Board and help the organization prosper. It is a very rewarding endeavor and looks great on your resume and/or tenure package. The student representative must be a post-baccalaureate student who has completed at least one academic year toward an advanced degree. If you are a first year student now, then you do qualify. The student representative receives a SEERS travel award of $150 for each regional meeting.
You can nominate yourself or someone else. If you nominate someone else, please first check with them that they are willing to serve. Please contact Past-President Bob Virnstein with nominations or questions by Sept. 30, 2014.
