VOTE NOW for SEERS Meeting Frequency Preference

Active SEERS Members are eligible to vote in a poll to determine the frequency of future SEERS meetings. Please log in at https://seers.wildapricot.org/Sys/Poll/13018 to register your opinion. Voting closes May 5, 2020 at midnight.

The SEERS Board of Directors would like to have your opinion on the optimal frequency of SEERS meetings in the future. Currently, SEERS holds 3 meetings every 2 years (every spring plus a fall meeting in years alternating with CERF meetings). The current “semiannual” schedule allows our organization to exchange science more frequently and provides more opportunities for member involvement across the Southeast. However, the Board would like to consider moving to an annual spring meeting only (plus the CERF meetings) schedule. Fall meetings tend to align and become cancelled by hurricane season, resulting in potential loss of planning time and meeting costs as well as undue burden upon members. Annual meetings would also make it possible to emphasize the importance of meetings and enhance meeting experiences.

Before making any decisions, the Board would like your feedback to ensure that our members’ opinions are taken into consideration. Should we continue with the current schedule of 3 meetings every 2 years (every spring plus a fall meeting in years alternating with CERF meetings) or change to a once per year in the spring schedule?

Please vote for your preference!
